SMART paying too much for Wi-Fi on trains

At the SMART board meeting last month, the board unanimously passed a $483,586 contract with GBS Group to provide Wi-Fi to the SMART trains. The contract expires in December of this year. Not one question from the directors, although one did mention how wonderful it worked. That’s over $40,000 a month for Wi-Fi? Hard to believe that was the best they could do in the bidding process (assuming there was one). Enough already.
